Gatherings
Posted by admin under General |We meet regularly on Sundays (see below), have Film & Spirituality gatherings bi-weekly on Saturdays, and hold other various activities at bi-weekly intervals. See the calendar for up-to-date information.
Here is what we do on a typical Sunday:
- Arrive and set out food
- Eat and catch up on each other’s lives
- Examine scripture or discuss current events relevant to our faith
- Share communion
- Sing a little and/or have a discussion on a topic of faith
- Pray for each other
We generally keep it pretty simple. We don’t consider this a worship service (though we sometimes sing a few songs), we meet in a home, and there is no preaching or collection. We are striving to authentically live out our faith without the baggage of heavy church overhead. This enables us to be flexible and responsive to each other’s needs as well as needs in our community and world.

interesting… how long have you guys been meeting, and how long have y’all been trying the four sunday rotation thing? how many people? I meet with 15-23 people in Arlington, Texas, and I know some folks in Lacey, WA who might be worth contacting, if you’re looking to “explore” and “discover”, as I saw somewhere.
I think you might like my blog. It’s at http://herobill.blogspot.com (I got here from someone’s blog - justin, maybe?)
thanks for posting all this on the web, and thanks for TRYING NEW STUFF, to be the church. At the very least, it’s worth documenting, for everyone’s sake. In Him, Bill Heroman

A small group of us up here in Vancouver, BC are trying to meet together similiar to you, so I appreciated learning of what you do when you meet. I think the “monthly rotation” is a great idea!
I have a sister-in-law in Seattle, so I’m wondering where you folks meet .. would love to drop by for a visit next time I’m in Seattle.

I appreciate your desire to walk in the presense and will of God and draw closer together in His fellowship. Your passion to find ways of communiting with each other and God is encouraging. May you continue to seek how He is working today and be involved to His glory.

I am just curious about your point of view on evangelism, or how you go about to do it?
I see lots of good in taking the church out of the church building, but can it be hard to grow this way?
Do you guys feel it wrong to meet in a building?

Another question i had was on your belief about baptism: What is your belief on that subject?
Also, when do you guys take the communion? is it every sunday? or do you sometimes take it on saturdays during the movie nights?
