The Ogles have moved to Philadelphia. On their last Sunday with Seattle Metro Church, Aaron presented this blessing.

A Blessing For Seattle Metro Church from the Ogles on September 9, 2007

May the Lord bless you and keep you

May the Lord make your freedom in him known

That your every deed is done with gratitude instead of guilt

May the Lord grant you courage and steadfastness

That you may not waver from your calling

May the Lord give you a spirit of self-discipline

That you may walk in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake

May the Lord increase your wisdom

That by your choices Seattle will know to whom you belong

May the Lord not withhold hardship from you

That in your weakness his strength may be made known

May the Lord continue to show compassion to Seattle

Through the manifestations of your faith

May the Lord make his love felt in Seattle

Through your hospitality, kindness, and embrace

May the Lord transform your lives

That your very existence may be a testament to him

May others come to know the friendship, love, and joy that we have found in your midst

May the Lord be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path

May the love of God and the love of your neighbors be your only law

May the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you

May the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace

Amen

We will watch GodSpell at the Drake/Myhan residence this Saturday, September 8 at 7:30 PM.

Our last business meeting was a great success; as a church we looked at our mission and reevaluated our hopes, fears, dreams, and mission. Making decisions as a church can be frustrating and difficult when you must reach consensus before moving forward, but it gave everyone a chance to speak out regarding the direction of our group.

As a result, the following decisions were reached (correct if I’m wrong, church, I didn’t take notes!)

  • We will continue to meet as one body this fall, at the Baeders.
  • As part of our renewed focus on spiritual growth, we will be organizing small groups next Sunday (the 9th).
  • Our Sunday morning format will follow the established liturgy, with volunteers signing up for the homily.
  • The last Sunday of the month is reserved for service.

Next Sunday, Aaron Ogle will be giving the homily on his last Sunday with the church. Good luck in Pennsylvania, Aaron, Andrea, and Asher!
